Partnering with Haiti Medical Mission of Memphis at their Clinque Sant Espirt, Luke's Mission will use this grant to start up a eye glasses distrubution clinic in Croix D' Bouquets. Under the direction of Dr. Romel Dorsaint and using the autorefractor system designed by Kendall Optometry Ministry, Dr. Romel will over see training of his staff to evaluate the vision of the residents of the community and prescribe glasses from an inventory of 2500 glasses on site.
This is the only program of it's kind in Haiti that is known to us.
Luke's Mission received a $13,500 grant from the Winslow Stark Foundation for the purchase of household water filters for the families in Croix D'Bouquet. Families who are participating in the Well Baby Clinic conducted by Dr. Romel Dorsaint are eligible for the household water filters as part of the Suffer the Children At Risk Haitian Children Project.

One of my pastor’s Pastor Bo has been involved in going to Haiti and has mentioned a Texas Aquaponics system that he visited that was going to be set up in Haiti. I don’t know if you are that same farm, but I have been interested in this since he mentioned it in his sermon. I am a teacher and instructional designer wanting to use my knowledge to change the world. I was wondering if ongoing training is a part of what you are doing?

I am doing an aquaponics program in rural uganda. We were led to believe that the local people had access to power which they dont. I was reading in your blog that you have used a bilge pump in Haiti. Would someone be available to explain how to you this in detail. i know systems well when there is electricity involved. Its a whole new ball game without it. Thanks for the help.
